Located midway between Ocean City and Assateague Island’s National and State Parks, the Assateague Island Oasis Restaurant and Bar offers both indoor and outdoor dining experiences to the shore area’s seasonal visitors and local residents from 10:30 in the morning until 2am, seven days a week. Casual Dining is our specialty and we are incredibly lucky to be staffed by some of the friendliest people you will ever meet, in the most laid back atmosphere you can find on this side of the Chesapeake.

It's a great place for vacationers to come visit and always popular with local residents from the nearby town of Berlin and the communities of Glen Riddle, Mystic Harbor, Snug Harbor, South Point and Bayside at Ocean City.

About BIG AL’S Original Baltimore Pit Beef

BIG AL’S was originally established on Pulaski Highway in Baltimore, MD back in 1979. Pit beef is Baltimore's version of barbecue: beef grilled crusty on the outside, rare and juicy inside and heaped high on a sandwich. Several things make it distinctive in the realm of American barbecue. For starters, pit beef is grilled, not smoked. Baltimore pit bosses use top round, not brisket, and to make this flavorful but tough cut of beef tender, they shave it paper-thin on a meat slicer. It is also ideally served rare to medium rare but can be prepared as desired to anyone’s liking. Sadly, Big Al’s in Baltimore is no more. But several years ago, the DiCarlo Brothers brought their famous Pit Beef recipe and home made sauce down to the Eastern Shore’s favorite vacation destination where it remains as popular and mouth watering today as when first served on a bun over 3 decades ago.

We also serve Kent County, Dorchester County, Somerset County and just about anywhere east of the Chesapeake Bay including Princess Anne, Crisfield, Westover, Mardela, Mardela Springs, Fruitland, Hebron, Nanticoke, Vienna, Cambridge, and Easton, MD.
